SAM HUGHES REMODEL WITH MASTER SUITE ADDITION

This historic designated home in the Sam Hughes neighborhood located west of the University of Arizona underwent an extensive remodel and addition but one wouldn’t know it when they drive by. The remodel included opening up the small rooms to create one large kitchen which is open to the living space. The existing two bedrooms and bathroom were updated but remained in their original configuration. A large master suite, walk-in-closet and office were added to the rear of the property with a large shed roof. The shed roof is mirrored with a double cantilevered barbeque canopy which creates an artificial “slot canyon” that protects the new west exposure from the brutal western exposure. A brick wainscot helps to tie the addition into the existing double wythe brick walls.
